Welcome to East Mountain Physical Therapy
Mark and Cheryl Fowler opened East Mountain Physical Therapy (EMPT) in Moriarty during August of 1995, expanded to Edgewood in 2005 and Cedar Crest in 2006. Their goal is to provide physical therapy in an atmosphere you won't find in the city and leave patients with "friendship and fitness for life."
With licensed physical therapists in each of our clinics and occupational therapists in our Cedar Crest clinic, we direct your plan of care and communicate with your physician as needed. Our team of therapists and licensed assistants work together to provide every patient with quality, hands-on care ... every time you are seen. We continuously assess your progress and modify your treatment plan as needed.
We are members of Desert States Physical Therapy Network, a group of over 30 private practice clinics throughout New Mexico who strive to maintain the highest standards in the industry. We also participate in a national database of functional outcomes and patient satisfaction assessment called "Care Connections." These results are reviewed quarterly and have shown that we are above average in achieving therapy goals AND patient satisfaction.
For your convenience, we have three offices nestled in the East Mountains just outside of Albuquerque - located in Cedar Crest, Edgewood and Moriarty.

How is EMPT different from other clinics?
- ONE-ON-ONE CARE
We schedule one patient per hour for each PT, OT, & PTA. You will receive individualized attention for the entirety of your appointment. - TOTAL BODY APPROACH
All EMPT physical therapists, occupational therapists, and licensed assistants have advanced training in manual therapy techniques designed to reduce pain, restore normal alignment, and improve overall function throughout the body. We treat the body as a whole, rather than focusing on just one specific joint. - PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AT ALL LOCATIONS
Patients who would benefit from both PT and OT can conveniently be scheduled for both therapies at the location of their choice. - CHRONIC PAIN SPECIALIST
We have a therapist who has over 30 years' experience treating and managing chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Patients who have tried traditional therapy without results have experienced incredible pain relief after being seen by our chronic pain specialist. - TEAM APPROACH TO TREATMENT
Our physical therapy team is led by a physical therapist who creates and oversees every patient’s plan of care. Each clinic has experienced physical therapist assistants who progress patients through their treatment plan. We believe this "Team Approach" is very effective in providing quality care. Most of our patients appreciate having a variety of ideas and expertise, and our results show that this approach works well! However, if you prefer to be seen by a specific therapist or assistant each visit, simply let the front desk know, and we will do our best to accommodate you. - EXPERIENCE IN TREATING ALL CONDITIONS FOR ALL AGES
Our therapists have a wide variety of experience in different settings which enables them to provide specialized treatment for a wide variety of conditions and ages. This allows East Mountain residents to get high quality care close to home.
